CHAPTER 10. BETWEEN LONDON AND

MANCHESTER

After Bayu entered the car and walked back to his hotel, Karisa closed the door. As she passed through the dining room and cleaned the dirty dishes after their dinner, her father approached Karisa and inquired about her closeness with Bayu.

"Are you dating Bayu now, Sa?" Karisa was puzzled about how to respond to her father's question. "Hmm, why do you ask?" Karisa questioned her father.

"Oh, nothing, I just noticed how close you two were tonight,"

her father replied.

"I don't know what to say, Dad, hehehe," Karisa answered.

"Why? What's the matter?" her father asked again.

"Well, I can't give you an answer right now, Dad. I'm afraid you'll think Karisa is getting all excited again," Karisa replied, lowering herself.

"Bayu is a good person, you know. Polite in speech, a man like him should accompany you later," her father once again expressed his opinion, as if promoting Bayu to her. Karisa blushed upon hearing her father's words.

"Dad also knows Bayu's dad well; he's a good person. Like father, like son, right?" her father added. Karisa just responded to her father's words with a smile.

"Alright, you should rest now. It's late, and you have to work tomorrow, right?" her father requested.

"Yes, Dad, I'll go to sleep, okay?" Karisa left the dining room and headed to her room upstairs.

"Yes, go to sleep," Karisa then walked up the stairs to her room. In her room, Karisa just smiled, remembering the moments with Bayu and her father in the dining room earlier.

Bayu successfully made Karisa think about him, and it

seemed like her father had already approved of their relationship. Then suddenly, Bayu sent a message to Karisa.

Bayu: "Thank you for bringing me closer to your dad, Karisa

😊"

"Oh, what should I reply to this? Hmm," she muttered to herself, thinking about a suitable and not overly needy response to the man who hadn't officially become her partner.

Typing

Karisa: "You're welcome, Bayu. It's a pleasure to welcome you into my family."

"Ah, crazy, I'm trying too hard to be cool in this chat. Duh!

Awkward!" Bayu immediately responded to Karisa's message not long after.

Bayu Typing

Bayu: "So, how? Can you come with me to Manchester later?"

Bayu's question left Karisa confused about what to say.

Perhaps Karisa was tired from the day, deciding not to give a definite answer to Bayu's invitation. Karisa then opened her photo gallery, filled with recent pictures of the two of them with Bayu, still warm to look at until Karisa fell asleep while holding her phone. However, in the early morning, Bayu called Karisa without any apparent reason several times, but Karisa didn't wake up as she had activated the silent mode on her phone. There were 5 missed calls from Bayu that early morning; it was unclear what he wanted to convey to Karisa.

As morning approached and Karisa woke up from her deep sleep, she opened her cellphone and remembered Bayu's last message that she hadn't had a chance to reply to. When she opened her phone, she was surprised to see missed call notifications from Bayu.
